レーザキャビティ作製技術の進歩により新しいタイプのレーザである2次元マイクロキャビティレーザが作製可能となった。このレーザは将来の光無線ネットワークや光電子集積回路などの基本素子となることが期待されている。

Advances in processing technology have made it possible to make new types of 2D microcavity lasers with potential applications as key components in optical wireless communication and optical integrated circuits.
