on Cooperation of Layered Multi-Agents

It is important for distributed multimedia applications to assure
end-to-end QoS of media streams. Moreover, the end-to-end QoS needs to be controlled
adaptively according to fluctuations of system states and variations in user QoS
requirements. We have proposed an adaptive QoS control telecommunications platform
for distributed multimedia applications. In this platform, the adaptive QoS control
is achieved by the direct and indirect cooperation of layered multi-agents. By
adopting the layered multi-agent system, the proposed QoS control platform can
at the same time flexibly adapt to user QoS requirements and large variations
in system states, and quickly adapt to small fluctuations in system states.
