Toward the Realization of Speech Translation System for Monologue

音声翻訳システムの研究では、対話が主に考えられてきましたが、ニュースや講演などの独話への需要も見逃せません。そこで、講演を対象として同時通訳者による同時通訳データを作成し、講演・同時通訳の特徴を調べ、独話の音声翻訳システム構築の基礎的な検討を進めています。
The most of studies on speech translation system have aimed at dialogue so far.
However, the demand for translation of monologue, such as broadcast news or lectures,
is rapidly growing. We collected simultaneous translation data of lectures by
human translators and investigated the characteristics of monologue and simultaneous
translation by analyzing the corpus for developing a speech translation system
for monologue.
