最適なネットワーク設計をめざして
A few steps to optimal design of communication networks

近年急速に普及してきたインターネットは、次世代の情報通信インフラとして期待されており、様々な通信サービスや高速転送技術が盛んに研究開発されています。しかし、そのためのネットワーク設計手法はまだ十分に確立されているとはいえず、スペシャリストの経験と勘にたよっているのが現状です。私達は、インターネットに代表されるコネクションレス型パケット通信網を対象として、ネットワーク設備の最適容量設計や通信トラヒックの最適配分方法などについて研究を進めています。
The internet is expected to be a basic technology for the next generation of telecommunication
infrastructure. Although various communication services and high-speed packet
forwarding techniques are provided, a suitable design method has not been fully
developed for the network. We intend to propose a new method for optimally allocating
traffic and resources for connectionless packet networks typified by the internet.
