Morphological Facilities
for German Generation in ASURA
Abstract:This document describes all of the morphological facilities used for German generation in the
ASURA speech-to-speech translation system (CSTAR demo version of January 28, 1993): a morphological network and related programs; a morphological dictionary and associated lexical programs; a
set of morphological rules which add endings to word stems (and sometimes alter the stems as well);
and functions for postprocessing punctuation and capitalization. It emphasizes information needed
for maintenance and extension.
