In the current ATR UptoDate, we have put together a special issue on the Media Information Science Laboratories. Media information is a phrase that gets thrown around quite a bit, but is quite difficult to pin down and define.
Human expression content has expanded in a wide variety of directions thanks to the recent and significant advancements in Information Technology. These advancements allow people to have many opportunities to express their own individuality by sending messages easily and comfortably, while, at the same time, giving people who receive information many more opportunities to witness significant changes in the advanced and novel content of the media.
There's a wealth of technology in this unique and interesting content, such as the five themes that are introduced in this issue. We expect that Media Information Science will be further developed by taking advantage of today's innovative and freewheeling corporate cultures for future success.
In closing, we would like to express our extreme gratitude to Dr. Kidode, professor at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, for kindly contributing to this issue as our guest author.
