A Series of Experiments with
Recursive Analysis by Analogy
Abstract:This report describes a set of experiments with analysis by analogy. The influence
of three factors has been inspected: the use of restriction, a constraint, and a threshold of recursion. The restriction does not really influence the results, although it slightly
increases the accuracy. The constraint does not increase the number of exact answers,
but contributes to decrease the number of bad answers. Thus, the space searched can be
efficiently reduced, yielding an acceleration of the method. The recursion threshold
does not increase the number of exact answers, as was expected, and it was shown to
have no influence after a maximum value.
