Vocal Tract Length Normalization
(VTLN) using Warp Scales for
Spontaneous Japanese Speech
Abstract:In this report, we will describe how we used warp scales in order to reduce the speaker variability of speech. Such experiments have already been conducted on English. We will show that
these methods also work for ATR's Japanese Speech Database (SDB).
(CAUTION: after the end of Nicolas' stay we found some serious bugs in the software. These
bugs invalidate any conclusions. We decided to publish this report nevertheless to document the
approach and the software.)
