Labeling of Prosodic Structure in Japanese
Abstract:This report describes the labelling of intonation in Japanese speech.
It describes an extention of the ToBI transcription system, originally
designed for English, that includes extensions proposed by Venditti
and Beckman. The system has been implemented here at ITL and
is being tested with 50 sentences from the ATR 503 phonetically-balanced set for MYI, a male speaker, and with a subset of ten of
these sentences with the readings of five other speakers.
