Discriminative Training for Speech Recognition

Abstract:The theme of this thesis is the automatic classification of pattern data into categories. A new approach to achieving high-performance classification will be described and contrasted with other approaches, focusing on a specific topic in data classification: speech recognition. Though the area of application is specific, the framework for classifier design described here addresses fundamental issues in classifier design, and is applicable to many areas outside of speech recognition.
