ATR Neural Network Research on Speech Processing
Abstract:In this paper, recent neural network research at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute
International (ATR) is reviewed, focusing on neural network approaches in speech processing
research. Research topics include the Time Delay Neural Network (TDNN) and its applications to
phoneme recognition and Japanese syllable spotting, Learning Vector Quantization (LVQ) and an
LVQ-based phoneme recognition system, and noise reduction and word category prediction using
multi-layered, back-propagation based neural networks.
